Hi All:

I fixed this problem. I was using the cygwin beta 1.7. I reinstalled cygwin using the last stable release, 1.5.25.
I also had to add the "sleep 5" line to startxwin.bat and startxwin.sh.

So, I guess this is a defect to log against the 1.7 beta: the xterm executable can't seem to connect to shared memory
for windows 7, home edition.

George

I turned off UAC, or so I am told.

The server seems to start up OK. But xterm cannot access the shared memory? I ran this from the Cygwin.bat and got this stack dump.

I don't believe there is a workaround, unfortunately. Vista has the same issue.

Isn't this just UAC? You can turn that off for a user if you want.
