I think there are notes in FAQ. About "Can I use the Cygwin/XFree86 with
MSVC DLLs?"
The answer refers the user to go to http://sources.redhat.com/win32-x11.
The differences are basic, one project use Cygwin and other is MSVC project
to build Win32 native support.
