Xinstall.sh: bad interpreter

Tried installing the XFree and got the following
error:

I type: ./Xinstall.sh at the root prompt

error:

bash: ./Xinstall.sh: bad interpreter: no such file or
directory
==

what could be the problem?
I downloaded the binaries as stated in the user guide.
