This question seems to be related to the cygwin list entry entitled Cygwin 1.7.1 missing startxwin.sh see http://sourceware.org/ml/cygwin/2010-02/msg00652.html
Today, I tried following the instructions on http://x.cygwin.com/docs/ug/setup-cygwin-x-installing.html with the exception that I chose install for all the choices of the form xorg-* Looking at the documentation http://x.cygwin.com/docs/ug/using.html#using-starting It appears that the program startxwin should have been installed. When I execute the command $ startxwin I get the response bash: startxwin: command not found When I execute the command $ find /usr -name 'startxwin*' I get no response (no matches). When I execute the command uname -a I get the response CYGWIN_NT-5.1 R8-NF079_GHIHME 1.7.5(0.225/5/3) 2010-04-12 19:07 i686 Cygwin -- Problem reports: http://cygwin.com/problems.html FAQ: http://cygwin.com/faq/ Documentation: http://cygwin.com/docs.html Unsubscribe info: http://cygwin.com/ml/#unsubscribe-simple
