Another trick/ fix/ workaround would be to go into /etc/setup/installed.db and edit it to show you've got
texlive texlive-20120628-1.tar.bz2 0
and maybe
texlive-collection-basic texlive-collection-basic-20120628-2.tar.bz2 0
(even though you haven't). There may be others but it won't be hard to build a list. When texlive gets updated you will need to go through this again to prevent nags, but this is a potential hassle-saving suggestion ... ??
