Hello, I am trying to install Cygwin 64-bit on my computer. The operating system is Windows 7, Enterprise Edition, Service Pack 1.
When I try to install a minimum (basic) version of Cygwin, the installation hangs during the post installation process, when 40% of this stage has completed. This is while running ca-certificates. When I cancel the installation by clicking on the <Cancel> button, the final lines of file setup.log.full are Rebasing with list /var/cache/rebase/rebase_all, built from /var/cache/rebase/rebase_lst /var/cache/rebase/rebase_dyn /var/cache/rebase/rebase_user. 2016/02/05 10:37:11 running: C:\cygwin64\bin\bash.exe --norc --noprofile "/etc/postinstall/0p_update-info-dir.sh" cat: /usr/share/info/.stamp: No such file or directory Rebuilding info directory 2016/02/05 10:38:42 running: C:\cygwin64\bin\bash.exe --norc --noprofile "/etc/postinstall/000-cygwin-post-install.sh" 2016/02/05 10:39:42 running: C:\cygwin64\bin\bash.exe --norc --noprofile "/etc/postinstall/coreutils.sh" 2016/02/05 10:40:43 running: C:\cygwin64\bin\bash.exe --norc --noprofile "/etc/postinstall/bash.sh" 2016/02/05 10:41:43 running: C:\cygwin64\bin\bash.exe --norc --noprofile "/etc/postinstall/base-files-mketc.sh" '/etc/hosts' -> '/cygdrive/c/Windows/System32/drivers/etc/hosts' '/etc/protocols' -> '/cygdrive/c/Windows/System32/drivers/etc/protocol' '/etc/services' -> '/cygdrive/c/Windows/System32/drivers/etc/services' '/etc/networks' -> '/cygdrive/c/Windows/System32/drivers/etc/networks' 2016/02/05 10:42:44 running: C:\cygwin64\bin\bash.exe --norc --noprofile "/etc/postinstall/base-files-profile.sh" Using the default version of /etc/profile.d/lang.sh (/etc/defaults/etc/profile.d/lang.sh) Using the default version of /etc/profile.d/lang.csh (/etc/defaults/etc/profile.d/lang.csh) Using the default version of /etc/profile.d/tzset.sh (/etc/defaults/etc/profile.d/tzset.sh) Using the default version of /etc/profile.d/tzset.csh (/etc/defaults/etc/profile.d/tzset.csh) Using the default version of /etc/profile (/etc/defaults/etc/profile) Using the default version of /etc/shells (/etc/defaults/etc/shells) Using the default version of /etc/bash.bashrc (/etc/defaults/etc/bash.bashrc) Using the default version of /etc/bash.bash_logout (/etc/defaults/etc/bash.bash_logout) Using the default version of /etc/skel/.bashrc (/etc/defaults/etc/skel/.bashrc) Using the default version of /etc/skel/.inputrc (/etc/defaults/etc/skel/.inputrc) Using the default version of /etc/skel/.bash_profile (/etc/defaults/etc/skel/.bash_profile) Using the default version of /etc/skel/.profile (/etc/defaults/etc/skel/.profile) 2016/02/05 10:43:45 running: C:\cygwin64\bin\bash.exe --norc --noprofile "/etc/postinstall/ca-certificates.sh" 2016/02/08 07:20:35 note: Installation Complete 2016/02/08 07:20:35 Ending cygwin installation I start the installation by typing the following line in a command prompt window: setup-x86.exe --no-admin I do have administrative rights on my computer, but attempting to install cygwin for all users fails in the same manner.
