Just checking: there are _lots_ of warnings/error messages in
/var/log/mandb-index.log, is this to be expected?

Rough summary:

     54 whatis parse for ... failed
     35 bad symlink or ROFF `.so' request
     23 can't open ...: No such file or directory
     12 ... is self referencing
      3 ... is a dangling symlink
      1 ignoring bogus filename
