I don't think it matters much (or at all*) but while installing today's python39 update I got: running: .. .. \bin\bash.exe --norc --noprofile "/etc/preremove/python39-pip.sh" abnormal exit: exit code=2 On inspection the .sh file contains the single command: /usr/sbin/alternatives --remove pip3 /usr/bin/pip3.9 This syntax with arguments and switches is duplicated frequently in /etc/preremove/ scripts so I cannot quite see where the problem resides .. ..
