 Sorry for butting in... but I have been there myself.

IMO there is one, not so obvious, maldefinition with at least
 [EMAIL PROTECTED]
as it is today. In short:

There could be a "Reply-To: [EMAIL PROTECTED]" in the headers of
mail that is sent out by "ezmlm".

"Sender: [EMAIL PROTECTED]" and
"Mail-Followup-To: [EMAIL PROTECTED]" are obviously not enough.

 As it is now; pressing "Reply" on mail from the list (at least in Outlook)
puts something else than [EMAIL PROTECTED] in the "To..." field, e.g. "Max
Bowsher <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>" (the <mail address> hidden under "Properties").
Outlook's "Reply to All", *appends* [EMAIL PROTECTED] in the To field.

That is probably why some of you get some personally adressed mail
that really belongs on the list.

 I have appended the headers of the message I replied to, for ref.

Hmm...? After proofreading; These looks odd:
--
Content-Type: text/plain;
        charset="iso-8859-1"
Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit
--
i.e. they are *contradictory*; iso-8859-1 is full eight bits. I wonder where
the 7bit thing comes from. And:
--
Status:

 is obviously something extra (not necessary?).
