Why would you need a bash.bat when Cygwin comes with a perfectly good
bash.exe?

Perhaps <http://cygwin.com/faq/faq_3.html#SEC31> can be of help?

Also, note that the default Cygwin icon starts the cygwin.bat file which
starts bash.
