I have updated the version of cron on cygwin.com to 3.0.1-14. This version now finally includes the helpful cron_diagnose.sh script written by Mark Harig.
The script attempts to diagnose problems in the user's environment that would prevent "cron" from working properly. It makes no modifications to the user's environment. Each time the script finds a possible problem, it prints a diagnostic message and exits. The user may have to run the script several times until all diagnosed problems have been resolved. In future, new packages to cron will always contain that script. Thanks to Mark for this valuable contribution! To update your installation, click on the "Install Cygwin now" link on the http://cygwin.com/ web page. This downloads setup.exe to your system. Then, run setup and answer all of the questions. *** CYGWIN-ANNOUNCE UNSUBSCRIBE INFO *** If you want to unsubscribe from the cygwin-announce mailing list, look at the "List-Unsubscribe: " tag in the email header of this message.
