I found where to add the library reference in the Eclipse dialog hierarchy: Project/properties/"C/C++ Build"/"GCC C++ Linker"/Libraries/ <insert -lgsl>. I also had to add c:\cygwin\lib\lapack to the PATH environment variable so it could find cyglas.dll. Thank you for your patience!
