What does "compensate for the loss of size" mean?
As far as answering your question, set up either telnetd and/or sshd under
Cygwin (read /usr/doc/Cygwin/inetutils-1.3.2.README,
/usr/doc/Cygwin/openssh-2.3.0p1.README or see
http://mike.erdelynet.com/sshd.asp for help). Then, telnet or ssh to
localhost.
