You assumeed wrong.  I've built the unix source of tcl 8.4a1 and tk 8.4a1.  Of
course the tk executable requires the X11 libraries and headers from
Cygwin-Xfree and then requires an X server; but, it builds and works. ;)

The UNIX source does build.  CC='gcc -mno-win32'.

Oh,  yes those MS extensions.  Anyone up to adding the code necessary to GCC to
have these features working?
