strange phenomena

[Wise Man]

I installed "cygwin" under "c:\cygnus" (due to
historical reasons).
When I "ls /cygdrive/c/cygnus/usr/lib" I see some
files, but on "ls /usr/lib" I see different files. How
can it be?
