Corina, FYI, I ran into this problem and modified my etc/passwd-grp.bat.done from: bin/mkpasswd -l > etc/passwd bin/mkgroup -l > etc/group to: /bin/mkpasswd -l > /etc/passwd /bin/mkgroup -l > /etc/group And now I'm displaying my user name on the prompt. For some reaon your /etc/passwd isn't configured. You didn't install via setup.exe or you updated your system from 9x, perhaps?
