Doesn't seem to make a difference whether i put it in or not (i'm still
logged in as the default user and have my .profile executed, maybe it's cos
i'm setting SHELL=/bin/bash explicitly before hand)

Ah...it gets you colour in things like lynx and when you do ls with colour
turned on, but does it get you colour in vim?  didn't for me....
