RE:Syslogd problem

I use cygwin with windows 98 and i can't retrieve log_ftp 
> informations when i 
> use tftp server i only have in my syslog .conf this:
> *.*           /var/log/messages
> ftp.*         /var/log/ftp.log

> I have informations on the file messages but nothing in the 
> file ftp.log why?
