Dear Sir/Madame;
My name is Doug Sinclair and I am a Parks Operations Supervisor
here in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. I am doing research into
current park practices especially in the area of computerized
maintenance management programs (cmms) and I have discovered a missing
market niche. I trust you're familiar with cmms but if you aren't there
are lots of sites on the web where you can browse for information.
Your company may be interested in helping me fill this gap.
I can see that there are many "off the shelf" programs that do
wonderful things for various industrial operations like transportation
companies, factories, and petro chemical plants. And there are some
systems that can be modified to do all things for all users but at an
astronomical cost. To my knowledge what appears to be missing is a
program that is specific to Parks thereby requiring minimal staff time
for tailoring; has the full range of all the normal mms tracking and
forcasting; allows for an integrated GIS module and is marketed through
an Application Service Provider at a reasonable cost.
Now this may seem like a tall order but I really believe it's not
only doable but I think all the pieces already exist and could be made
into a working program for something in the neighborhood of 50k US. I
have been doing some preliminary work with the local rep of a software
developer who has a good track record with parallel applications. Of
course we would still need to get the thing packaged for the ASP and
that is where you come in.
I realize only too well that this will require some solid venture
capital which in turn requires a solid business plan. Before I can
produce any kind of meaningful BP I need to know all the projected
development costs, production costs, operating costs and the list goes on.
If this seems to have any potential I'd like you to consider working
with me through the BP and VC stage where I would use your cost
projections and other pertinent information to build the plan and
subsequently acquire the venture capital necessary to proceed.
Please email me back if you're interested and/or you have any
questions.
Any help with this matter would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you very kindly,
Doug Sinclair
