However, since the military government rejected the legal election of the Islamic Salvation Front (or whatever their name was), and the following wave of terrorism by the generals and the Front, there's no guarantee that any laws that Algeria may have permitting encryption can be trusted, and no guarantee that non-existence of any law forbidding encryption means they won't arrest you for using it.
