tor tor tor the onion router that replaced all the others except i2p
and other things.

not all my crazy posts to this list have been labeled that. here's
something: https://lists.cpunks.org/pipermail/cypherpunks/2021-May/087756.html

tor has a padding infrastructure!

lots of discussion about censorship. i've had a user account muted in
their irc, so i'm a little scared of it. often i believe i only have
one physical body, wouldn't want to further ruin it's reputation.

maybe it would be reasonable to propose reduced overhead, rather than
increased overhead. i dunno.

padding spec was at
https://github.com/torproject/torspec/blob/main/padding-spec.txt

i also have interest in a funny thing with tor
it used to 'heal' connections when the local network went down
so you could start a stream over tor, _disconnect your internet_,
_connect to a new different internet_, and the stream would resume
where it left off with no errors.
this stopped being the case after some time.
i might be interested in hunting down that change in the source, or
reimplementing the feature.

i am in a crazy state of mind and am unlikely to do these things!
just exploring!
