The book compiles interviews about justice with thirty survivors of
violence—twenty-six women and four men, ranging in age from twenty-two to
sixty, and “diverse in terms of ethnicity, sexual orientation, and class and
geographic background,” all of whom have experienced sexual or domestic abuse
at some point in their lives.
