"DIADROMI ELEFTHERIAS" ("ROUTE FOR FREEDOM"). It s usual in every new
publication to have an editorial explaining the reasons of that effort. The
questions are many! WHY ANOTHER ANARCHIST NEWSPAPER? WHY NOW? HOW? WHICH
ARE THE ASPIRATIONS? The answers are also many and multi-form! Answers
which, sometimes, start from an "underground" -others call it "inner"-
feeling for apology or with an obvious intention for a "political" thesis
while, in other times, include extensive analysis trying to give
explanations. Now, we, the circle of editors, could just say that that s
the way we like it and we don t have to give any explanations to anybody!
Simple and easy answer!! It also includes a characteristic bully tone
-which we fancy a lot- and some might like and others might not. Anyway,
without feeling that a new publication puts those who participate in it in
a -constant or temporary- state of "bewildered" or "mechanic" explanations,
we believe however that some things must be said. First of all, during this
period of time, it is a fact that thereisn t a single anarchist newspaper
to be distributed in all the Greek territory. This has as a result to make
more difficult the contact with anarchist views and practice and to have
insufficient information about the social "action" of all companions, and
in general of people who act or want to take initiatives in other areas.
The "DIADROMI ELEFTHERIAS" makes the attempt to contribute to that
direction, baring in mind the (positive and negative) experience from
similar publications during the 80 s and the 90 s. An attempt like that is
part of a "wider" but also "narrower" route. Some carry with us and share
the experience of publishing by groups or individuals. This experience we
wish to combine all together with the enthusiasm and the will of all
companions united with a large dose of "companionship". We don t start from
scratch and we don t pretend to learn everything now. However, we do have a
lot to learn as well as to contribute -as much as we can- to the expansion
of anarchist views and practice. The participation of groups and
individuals in the circle of editors of the "DIADROMI ELEFTHERIAS" doesn t
mean that the groups will be abolished or merged into it nor that the
individuals will vanish inside a wider collectivity. In this circle of
editors we don t function by majority but by the mutually acceptable
concepts and views and of course by the anarchist consent. Our target is to
contribute to the creation of other anarchist groups which will take action
in every place within the Greek territory. We wish the continuation of
other publications by anarchist collectivities and their expansion. We don
t antagonize publications which already exist and we will not transform the
"DIADROMI ELEFTHERIAS" into a battlefield between groups and individuals.
In the contrary we will mainly try to make known and enhance the views and
practice which we consider that may contribute essentially to the social
and individual liberation from the bonds of whatever form of power. The
contribution of each one of us separately and all together in the
information, analysis and making known of the social facts and conditions
through the pages of the "DIADROMI ELEFTHERIAS" doesn t intend to make it
into an organ of "expression" of a certain ideology. Such intentions and
cumulative logic as it has already been proven can lead to the castrating
of the expression of different views and practices by companions. Without
wanting to enter into political proceedings and ideological analysis, we
must say that we wish that this publication will be a route to freedom, a
contribution to facing the rulers who attack nowadays all humanity
fiercely. It is obvious to everyone that the more and more "upgraded"
attack causes bigger and bigger harm on earth and humanity, while the
expansion of their obscurantist plans, enforces the intensification of the
oppression and exploitation of the people. Last but not least, we wish to
say that this periodic publishing is a responsibility that can be based on
the assiduity, the enthusiasm, the creativity and the constant effort of
the companions but requires apart from us (the circle of editors) the
solidarity and support with texts, information, comics, photographs,
collaborations but also requires financial support. We wish and can
transform the joy of creativity into destruction of the enemies of freedom.
