The name '90East' is derived from the underwater ridge that begins at the 90th degree east longitude and stretches in two directions to almost span the globe, connecting all of the continents.

We start by offering a Threat Risk Assessment (TRA) from our independent Professional Services group to determine the risk profile and vulnerabilityÕs of the enterprises information assets, and provide recommendations for appropriate solution configurations, including policies and procedures.

Senior Management
FedLink
FedLink is a Virtual Private Network (VPN) using IPSec standard protocols to provide secure communications between agencies across the public Internet, and dedicated communications media. FedLink uses existing agency Internet gateways and the connectivity provided by the Internet to create a secure Government Intranet. It is an architectural framework that provides secure communications between departments, agencies, the Parliament, ministerial offices and commercial entities dealing with Government.

Agencies can utilise existing Internet connectivity and maintain existing functionality to the Internet. The FedLink connection will transparently identify and encrypt all FedLink member traffic from other data. Any inbound FedLink traffic will be automatically identified and decrypted without affecting other inbound data.

John Curtis: Chairman of the Board of Directors
John was employed from 1977 to 1987 by Wormald International Limited, during which period he became a member of the Board of Directors and was responsible as Chief Executive at various times for the group’s operations in over 35 countries in Europe, Australia, Asia, North America and the Middle East. He is currently Chairman of Allianz Australia Limited, and a Director of St George Bank Limited and Perpetual Trustees Australia Limited.

Josef (Jo) Peter Farnik: Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer
Jo was employed for many years with Shell International in a range of companies and roles based in various countries including the USA, West Indies, Netherlands and Australia. He specialised in areas such as marketing, planning and supply chain management. He was instrumental in building Shell Services International PLC that combined supply chain management, information technology, human resource management and business process engineering together with back office accounting and IT services for the whole of the Shell Group in 43 countries as well as third party customers. He, with senior executives from National Australia Bank and Coles Myer Limited, created FlyBuys, which is Australia’s most successful Customer Loyalty Program. His most recent position was that of Managing Director of the Distribution Group of Pacific Dunlop Limited. His overseas experience was a key driver in the design, building and operation of Novare Pty. Ltd.

Thomas E. Hillman: Non-Executive Member of the Board of Directors
Tom has experience with high technology computer and Internet authoring, presentation and broadcast software companies in the US and Australia including Control Data Corporation, Apollo/H-P, Alliant, Solbourne, Star Technologies and Scala.

Angus Reed: Non-Executive Member of the Board of Directors
Angus is a Managing Director of Australia Asia Group Pty Ltd, which he co-founded in 1994. Angus is also a successful private equity investor having invested in Mobile Communication Holdings Limited and SecureNet Limited prior to their initial public offerings on the Australian Stock Exchange. Angus is a founding shareholder in 90East and has been instrumental in negotiating the strategic relationships with the company’s global partners.

Jim Wolfinger: Non-Executive Member of the Board of Directors
Jim has 19 years of executive and management experience in the wireless telecommunications industry with companies including WorldCom Inc. and the mobile phone business owned by US West Inc. Jim is currently President Worldcom Wireless, which is a division of the US based telecommunications company Worldcom.

Edwin Daniels: Non-Executive Member of the Board of Directors
From 1995-1991, Edwin was CFO for the US arm of the South African conglomerate FSI and then Financial Director of the Retail Apparel Group. In 1995, Edwin joined Village Roadshow, where he was appointed CFO of the Entertainment Division, then Executive Vice President, Strategic Planning and then CEO of the Village Entertainment Property Trust. Edwin then provided managed his own corporate advisory and transaction structuring firm before joining the Liberman family interests, where he is involved in a general business and investment management capacity. Edwin is a Chartered Accountant and holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree and a post-graduate degree in Finance, Tax and Accounting from the University of Witwatersrand.

Blake Roet: Company Secretary & Business Affairs
Blake has significant experience in investment banking and funds management. Blake joined 90East from Australia Asia Group, where he was a principal and Finance Director, a member of the Board of Directors of Australia Asia Investment Management, which managed the ASX listed Flinders Industrial Property Trust, and a founding shareholder of 90East. Blake joined Australia Asia Group in 1997 from U.S. banking group JP Morgan & Co, where he was employed since 1991 as an investment banker focusing on corporate advisory and debt financing in Australia and the United Kingdom. Blake has a Bachelor of Economics from Monash University and Diploma of Applied Finance & Investment from the Securities Institute of Australia. Blake is an Associate of the Australian Society of Certified Practicing Accountants, an Associate of the Securities Institute of Australia and a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Banking & Finance.

Dr. Brian Denehy: Chief Scientist
Brian has 23 years of network technology and policy advisor experience with the Australian Federal Government. Working with 90East from its inception as the Chief Scientist, Brian has been able to exercise his 23 years of network technology and policy advisor experience with the Australian Federal Government to great benefit. He was instrumental in the development some of the first classified to public connections including the Navy’s Restricted connection in 1994 and the development of the Federal Government shared Secure Gateway Environment. Brian also managed the 3000 node network at the Australian Defence Force Academy and participated in the management of the ACT Regional Research Network and AARNet2, still the largest and fastest non-carrier IP network in Australia.

Rod Murn: Chief Consultant
Rod joined the Information Security Branch of the Defence Signals Directorate (DSD) as Manager, Advice & Assistance in September 1993, after 24 years as an applications programmer / developer in the Defence and Foreign Affairs portfolios. Rod’s experience is detailed and varied and includes supporting the introduction of on of the worlds largest Public Key Infrastructures into the Australian Tax Office.

Mark Warren: Manager Marketing & Business Development
Mark started working life as a communications engineer initially for Motorola Communications (Australasia) then in a variety of roles for Telstra, including network engineering, product development, communications consultancy and strategic sales for tier one enterprises. He worked with McKinsey during the review of Telstra's core business processes across service activation, billing and assurance. Mark also performed several business development and sales roles for Cable & Wireless Optus.

More recently Mark was involved with establishing CRM software company, Octane Software in the Australian market, which was subsequently acquired by E.piphany, with key roles in defining the go-to-market strategies, establishment of sales teams, partner relationships, territory plans, whilst maintaining an active selling role. Mark has performed business development roles across key enterprise sectors covering major banks & financial services, diversified industrials, energy utilities, telecommunications, high tech and pharmaceutical industries.

Denis Jorgensen: Manager Technical Services Group
Denis comes to 90East with eleven years of telecommunications experience gained in the Australian Army. He combines a strong technical background with extensive project management and systems engineering experience. During his career he has specialized in the design, deployment and management of secure networks of all sizes and at all levels of security.
