I recently caught Hunt for Red October on TV. In it, the defecting Russian
officers were talking about being able to travel around the U.S. from state
to state without receiving government approval first. One didn't think
it was possible; the captain reassured him otherwise.

True, the dialogue was a little insipid. But look at how far we've come
in such a short time.
