QANTAS must hand over details of Australian passengers for FBI screening under tough new US laws.

US Customs has the power to demand access to passenger lists as part of their anti-terrorism measures. The names and details of thousands of passengers may be used by the FBI to screen for potential terrorists and security risks and to track passenger movements.
After initial demands that plastic knives for airline meals be removed, the US is now allowing metal knives without serrated blades back on board.
