Dear Subscriber,

When we founded Knowledge Management Solutions, Inc. (KMSI), we had a vision of what could be done to reinvigorate the learning technology marketplace. Our founding team brought over 100 years of hands-on experience with nearly all of the "leading" learning technology platforms and e-learning development suites. Our plan was simple; identify the major areas for improvement in both technologies and processes and use that information to create a company and a platform that could avoid all of the pitfalls that have plagued the e-learning industry.

Our solution is a technology platform called KMx. This platform, our associated pricing model and implementation processes have forever solved the key pitfalls that have plagued the e-learning industry. KMx Enterprise is sold for one low price, regardless of the purchasing organizations size. KMx can be installed and integrated in a matter of days, not months or years like many of our competitors. KMx provides the tools required to develop e-learning materials without the need for programmers or complex development software. KMx realizes the vision of the SCORM standards through its' ability to produce truly shareable, highly granular, and reusable content. Our sales process is premised on one simple theme "try KMx and become a believer in e-learning and learning technology, again".

KMSI to Present at the Tata Learning Forum Spring, 13 May 2005 â Chicago, IL

This presentation will focus on the full spectrum of blended learning, including: traditional and virtual classroom-based instructor-led training; asynchronous training; on-the-job performance support and just-in-time learning; evaluations, testing and certifications; and associated access to knowledge and learning content objects through embedded search engines.

Rapid Prototyping of Courseware

The major factor underlying the considerable initial costs of e-learning development is the time required of programmers, instructional designers, authors, and subject matter experts. The subject matter expert occupies a critical role in the success or failure of any instructional design project. Ideally the subject matter expert can save the developers vital production time by providing annotated and structured documentation that captures how concepts and skills fit together in a given piece of curriculum. Although subject area knowledge acquisition has long been recognized as the "long pole in the tent" during development of courseware, the process for collecting the vital content data has been based primarily on unstructured interviews and focus groups which often result in unclearly specified requirements. KMSI provides an approach to rapid courseware prototyping that will reduce the time required of programmers, instructional designers, authors, and subject matter experts, while making that time spent more focused and useful for the courseware design and development process.

The Corporate University - Today Program will enable THINQ Training Server clients to move forward with their initiatives without the worries of product uncertainty, availability of software support and maintenance and the inevitable technology conflicts that arise when competitors merge."

Leading industry research analysts have stated that the THINQ product will likely be orphaned. These same analysts have also recommended that organizations using THINQ 4.x make plans to migrate now, because support for it will end in May 2006. These and other industry reports have caused many of THINQâs customers to contact KMSI concerned that their THINQ Training Server platform has become obsolete.
