Thanks for the report. That's what release candidates are for, right :-)

I compiled Sage a couple of revisions back, and it worked fine, and  
did another sage -ba when I sent out this email (and just now  
checked, it has the same problem with module-level cpdef functions).  
I'm going to try to sort this out and I'll get back to you so we can  
be sure it works with your symbolics.

As for nixing site-packages/cython I'm not sure what would cause that...
