Wow! Yes, I'm looking at your changes right now... I think I'll
back-port them..

Just a little comment on your patch: you defined this:

# Signedness values
UNSIGNED = 0
NOSIGN = 1
SIGNED = 2

# Longness values
SHORT = -1
NOLEN = 0
LONG = 1
LONGLONG = 2

That very nice, so... Why not take advantage of them to define all the
c_xxx_type instances?
