That is quite true. It is not good to have a branch lying around for a year like that. The fault is entirely mine; I gaped over quite a bit more than I could chew, and also told Kurt that I'd put it on me to merge it so that he could focus on fwrap -- and then subsequently failed to set aside time to do it. But as it is, I don't even have time to write the kind of outline you suggest. If anyone is interested, I could perhaps find time to Skype about it. I do hope to get around to it myself at some point after my thesis is done though, which is probably the most efficient way of getting this done. (It would take quite a bit more than what is in the branch for the full functionality that Sturla asks about, but just being able to pass buffers around without reacquisition would be a good start.)
