Hi Czernowitzers, I just wanted to say hello and introduce myself.
My name is James Herer. I am 31 years old, from New Jersey, though I am currently living in Oregon. I have been researching my grandfather Allen Bernhard Herer's family for a while and only recently made some headway in discovering our origins. I wanted to reach out and say "thank you" to all of you; it's amazing to have a sense of community with you all. I was wondering - I have a book written by my great-great uncle Karl Kluger entitled Das Elfte Gebot - the Eleventh Commandment. It's written in high German and it's supposedly a book of short stories about life in Czernowitz. I was wondering if one of you might know of a resource available to have it translated. I'm loath to send it to anyone, anywhere, as I lost most of my sentimental possessions in a house fire seven years ago and I have precious little left to me in the way of family memories. Thanks for being here. It means the world to me. -James Herer ******************************************************************************* This moderated discussion group is for information exchange on the subject of Czernowitz and Sadagora Jewish History and Genealogy.
