I do not know who you are in touch with, there are Archives in Vienna, were all past & present combatants are registered, Sadagura/Bukovina were Austrian Territory till 1920?. Any story regarding your grandparents regarding their past lives would have been bound to Czernowits being the capital of Bukovina. You may try to inquire the archives of Czernowitz re birth or marriage certificate.
