Thank you for opening your hearts and showing kindness during this challenging time.
With much appreciations,
Rabbi Mendel Glisnshtein,

Believe me those refugees don’t need those “Schmatzes”, a word which Katja my friend used.

Regards

Thank you, Arthur,

The shipped items are already stuck in Calgary on their way to nowhere for the time being, so my friend is trying to ship them where they would be needed. I am not familiar with other initiatives to send money by my friend’s Rotary club.

Regards,

Daniel

Dear Daniel.

I have contacted Katja who is in a refuge camp near Lvov. In 2010 Katja and another 12 young students volunteered for 2 weeks to clean the Czernowitzer Jewish cemetery. None of them were Jewish. I kept contact with Katja ever since. I did ask her what she needed the most and I emailed her your email, this was her answer:

“Thank your for nice gesture sending us worm clothes, but what we need really

is money to buy wood for heating and money to buy milk and food for our children.”

The Czernowitzer Rabi may tell you the same thing.

Best regards

Arthur

Hi all,

A friend of mine in British Columbia had gathered winter supplies (clothes,
gloves etc) to send to Ukraine. This was part of her Rotary Club initiative.
The shipment is stuck in Calgary, Alberta since she could not find any local
organization in Ukraine that would receive them for distribution as needed.
There is no Rotary in Ukraine as far as she knows.

Can anyone help with finding a voluntary organization in Ukraine, in
Czernowitz or elsewhere, that would be willing to accept the shipment?

Regards,

Daniel
