Hi Jens, The marriage record I sent you (1932 marriage of Fanni Rubinstein and Sigmund Gottlieb in Czernowitz) indicated that Sigmund was born in Czernowitz in 1903 and Fanni was born in Boian. The Boian records no longer exist (as far as I know) but Sigmund Gottlieb is listed on the czernowitz.geneasearch.net website. Using that information, I found an image of that record on familysearch.org within Jewish Records from Czernowitz. I’ll send that to you by direct email.

Her granny’s mother Fanni (born Rubinstein) and her father Sigmund Gottlieb were born at a time when Czernowicz was still part of the Austrian-Hungarian Empire. Fanni‘s father Leon Rubinstein, brother of Pinus „Ben Saar“ Rubinstein, was born in Boian in 1887, her mother Jeanette in 1886, possibly also there, but it could also be in Czernowicz, Novoselytsia or Radautz.
