Stop the presses - my mistake. I was confused by the fact that
appendItem() returned a menu item, and since the Dabo-layer item was
passed in, I assumed that it was the wx-layer item that was returned.
Instead, it's returning the same object that was passed in! Do you
have any idea why that would be?
IAC, I'll revert the privatization of those methods.
