This was by design. There are a lot of people who object strenuously
to the very idea of Web Update that the only way it was able to be
included in Dabo is to hide it as much as possible. You can access it
by opening up a Command Window (press Ctrl-D), and entering the command:
self.Application.checkForUpdates()
I think I'm going to modify the code that hides the preference tab
so that if the user has Web Updates enabled, that tab will show.
Right now it's controlled on an app-by-app basis, meaning that it can
only be changed for individual apps.
