I'm pretty sure it's legal to distribute those libraries (MSDN has all
these libraries as downloads too).

        A quick Google for "MFC71.dll" turns up several sites that offer
the  
file for downloading. Unclear licensing terms effectively prevent it  
from being distributed without worrying that Microsoft's lawyers will  
come after you, but lots of people distribute it anyway.
