        Ah, the joys of Windows: it destroys all the evidence of a crash 
immediately. It's hard to see just what the error is; sometimes a simple fix 
like you provided will take care of it; other times the traceback shows a much 
more serious problem. 

        Can you do this? Copy the command that the Start menu shortcut is 
using. Now open a cmd.exe window, cd to the working directory your shortcut 
uses, and then paste the command and run it. This should be exactly the same 
environment that your shortcut has, except that the cmd.exe window won't 
automatically close. After you get the crash, copy the entire traceback, and 
create a ticket in Trac so that it doesn't get forgotten. I have to do the 
family thing today, so I won't have much time to myself, and I don't want to 
forget about looking into this.
