Ok, we're down to just a couple of failures. Looking at the log you
sent me for charset.t, it appears that there are several things wrong,
so please run the attached by hand, which does a much more comprehensive
test, and send me the output.

That log gave me the information to fix the charset.t problem, I'm
pretty sure. blead now contains that fix. Hopefully this will also fix
the pat_advanced.t problem. But if not, I'll need you to send me its
file. It's basically claiming that there is a control character at the
beginning of the file instead of the '#' that is supposed to be there.
