To all of those who are offended at the choice of
the word "smoking" in the name of the project, I
recommend thinking carefully about what the project
is doing.
The purpose is to have many people regularly
build Perl and smoke out smoldering bugs. But the
name apparently makes people fume.
If this is not done then these smoldering bugs will
escape, causing many burns among users, resulting in
even more people fuming!
Therefore by causing a little smoke now, you prevent
much more smoke later. Smoking them out is a dirty
job, but we have to burn the crop^Wbugs to the
ground sometime, and it does less damage done now.
If the name still bothers people, think of this as
the fumigation effort. We all understand that quite
well that it is not healthy to be where fumigators
are working, but it sure nails those bugs!
Now can we discuss something other than the (IMNSHO
perfect) name?
