Quite welcome. Given that we have 6 different IRIX hardware (including both
IRIX and IRIX64 OSes) configurations in active use (15 machines total if I'm
adding up properly), that perl is my main programming language, and that I'm
getting into using it for heavy processing work (biological research - I
will be seeing about updating bioperl on these machines shortly, if it's
working again on IRIX; ditto for PDL after perl-5.8.0 is in) and thus
need it as optimized - but accurate - as possible, it's as much
for my benefit as for anyone else's!
