Scripture from today's Liturgy of the Word:
     Revelation 15:1-4
     Psalm 98:1-3,7-9
     Luke 21:12-19

A Reflection on Today's Scripture:

Today's First Reading from the Book of Revelation contains some very
important and encouraging words. It reiterates the might and wonder
of our God and reminds us that one day all nations will adore Him.

When the world seems particularly troubled, it is difficult to
imagine that something as wonderful as the Revelation scene could
ever happen. Yet that is what we have been told, and what we believe.

In the meantime hardly a moment passes that we're not acutely aware
of how far off we are from the realization -- that such a time will
ever take place. It is precisely because the world appears determined
to go its own way instead of God's way, that we need the
encouragement of Holy Scripture that reminds us that God's ways are
holy and His Word is worthy of all our faith, all our hope and all
our love.

If He were not trustworthy, there would be real cause for despair;
but thanks be to God, we are called to live in joy-filled hope for
the coming of His kingdom and life everlasting. Therefore, let us be
more determined than ever to persevere, confident that all that has
been promised will be fulfilled.
