First, thanks everybody for all your tips. He is a delightful little dog,
housebroken, great with the kids and the puppies, obedient. I took him to the
vet first thing this morning. He is between 2 & 3 years old, not neutered,
and doesn't have worms. I gave him three baths, so he doesn't stink anymore.
Got him a collar, he walks well on the leash. He rides great in the truck.
John said I could not keep him, but I could keep him until I find him a home.
The vet was checking clinics down where I found him to see if anybody was
missing him (I doubt it). I called animal control, no reports of a missing
dog there. My vet put me in touch with a person who has Scotties and is
involved in rescue. I told her I would keep him until I was satisfied it
would be a good indoor home. She agreed. So that is where it stand with
little J. Edgar Hoover. He is asleep at my feet now. I just love him, but
John doesn't like all that hair (John is bald do you think he's jealous???)!
