I'm glad to see the list is back and running smoothly...

My "weekend" was nice. I tried something different... I went to an
International Dog Show. This is the show where you compete for
International titles using the FCI Standard.
It was great... You go into the ring and the judge does the same things
as they would at an AKC show... the "go around" and the "up and back".
The examination was a little different... it took about 4 to 5 minutes
for each dog!! The judge then tells you to relax and goes to the table
to write his critic of your dog. When he's done he tells you all the
things he likes and all the things he wishes he could change and gives
you a rating. You also get a hard copy of the critic. You need to be
rated a V1 in order to advance in the classes
The ratings:.
V1 = very excellent
V2 = excellent
V3 = excellent, but not as good as V2
V4 = excellent, but not as good as V3
and then they have other ratings that don't recieve certificates...

Well, to get to the brag part.... On Saturday Beezer was rated a V2, he
didn't show well and was very out of sorts. So we gained one CAC toward
our National title.
On Sunday we were rated a V1, and gained a UCICB toward our
International Championship.
We now need 2 more UCICB (V1) ratings to finish!

What I liked the most was the relaxed atmosphere of the whole show. I
showed in jeans on Sunday and I wasn't the only one! They really seem to
look more at the dogs and not the handlers! There were also more owner
handlers!

I just thought I'd try something different... and boy, I'm glad I did!
