Unfortunately, it may be a case that there are more than one patch that are corrupt. The best thing you could do is to figure, from irate.tex and diff.txt you have (and does not apply) is how to make the patch actually apply. If it is really a reversed patch (i.e. it applies cleanly with -R), just nuke the offending hunk and continue pulling patches. You may encounter a few more such bad hunks, that will need to be fixed. When you have all patches, run darcs check to verify that everything worked out. Ah, and after you do any manual edits, always run darcs repair before pulling any more patches.
