So editors of the wiki might be pleased to know that we've recently updated the
installation of Gitit on wiki.darcs.net. The previous installation was
weeks/months old.

Perhaps most important is that Gitit now has categories! So if you've been
missing them and want to do some wiki-gardening, go check out the repo for
description of categories.

The new Gitit breaks apart the old template.html into little HStringTemplate
pieces, so updating isn't a pain in the ass. (Before, we had customized the
template.html to change the sidebar and footer, but that meant almost every update
necessitated me taking the new template.html and merging in by hand the deletions
& additions.)

It also changes the caching framework to cache entire pages, and stores them in
a disk cache. John reports this gives him a 10x speedup using Git; using Darcs,
it does seem a little faster.

There are a number of tweaks to the JS and CSS. (Most important seems to be
text-browser-friendly reductions in JS.)

Still to come: RSS support. John committed support based on some of my code
this morning, although I haven't taken a look. That might get uploaded soon; is
it particularly wanted by anyone?
