be more precise about what you have changed most recently?

So the "Couldn't fetch" bit could possibly be the wrong error description.
I suspect the more meaningful bit is "Hash failure in".   Did patch-tag do
anything to serve the data to darcs?  Is it possible that some white space
or UTF-8 differences have crept in?  Something that would cause the hash
algorithm to return a different value than what darcs expects?
