Hi Guillaume,

In case you had some spare time for a little wiki gardening, I thought I
should point out a slightly weedy patch.

We have
 * http://wiki.darcs.net/Ideas/Snapshots
 * http://wiki.darcs.net/Ideas/RepoTarballs
 * http://wiki.darcs.net/Ideas/Packs
 * http://wiki.darcs.net/GoogleSummerOfCode/2010-Network

The "snapshots" page is actually basically the same thing as
2010-Network, ie. optimize --http (I remembered Petr's idea and tried to
write it up). One thing is that it should perhaps not be called
snapshots as that may imply something else altogether.

I was thinking of naming it RepoTarballs... and then I remembered your
page :-)

What do you think we should do? Maybe there's a deeper sense in which
the optimize --http work ties into work we'd like to do for a faster
darcs put? Any chance you could consolidate the two Ideas pages
somehow, and maybe point to ongoing Google Summer of Code work?

Thanks!

Eric

PS. Cc'ing Alexey because I thought he might find it amusing to
    read this speculation on Petr's idea, and also because I
    think some high-level documentation of optimize --http in
    http://wiki.darcs.net/DarcsInternals would be great.
    Something along the lines of what would you write down if you
    wanted people to be able to reimplement Darcs in Fortran?
