I also still fail to understand. The appearance of the retouch module is
controlled by the lines
*plugins/darkroom/retouch/expanded=TRUE
plugins/darkroom/retouch/favorite=TRUE
plugins/darkroom/retouch/modulegroup=4
plugins/darkroom/retouch/visible=TRUE*
of your local *darktablerc* config file. Generally this file is not
modified if you "git clone" / "git pull" and if you (after building and
installing) start darktable without command line options.
