I have no idea. Darktable loads OpenCL dynamically, so that's
definitely not the problem. I have tried compiling without OpenMP, but
it behaved the same. I have tried debugging with gdb, but was unable to
get a reasonable backtrace.... and then i just went on to do other
stuff.

I installed Fedora 17 on a spare hdd. It has a nice
cross-compiling environment, plus an active community.

I don't know OpenSUSE much, but i'm guessing they have a very similar
cross-compiling environment as Fedora (so i'm guessing what's in Fedora
= more or less what's in Suse). You can take a look at what's available
in Fedora here:

.. look for packages starting with 'mingw-'

Not in any repository yet. It's quite a few of patches - for
lensfun, rawspeed, openexr... I might send some to upstream projects,
but currently my desktop PC is broken, and i can't boot the fedora hdd
on my laptop.
